1. Wound care: Clean cut with soap & water → apply antiseptic (Povidone iodine). 2. Tetanus: Last dose was 1 year ago → No booster needed (valid for 5–10 yrs). 3. Antibiotic ointment: Mupirocin / Fusidic acid local application × 5 days. 4. Analgesic (if pain): Tab. Paracetamol 500 mg SOS. 5. Keep wound covered if dirty, change dressing daily. Advice: Observe for redness, pus, swelling → consult if infection develops.

Hello, Since you had a tetanus shot about a year ago, you are likely still protected. For a minor dirty cut, usually a booster is recommended if it’s been more than 5 years since your last shot. Clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water, apply an antiseptic, and watch for signs of infection. If the cut is deep, very dirty, or you haven’t had a tetanus booster in the last 5 years, consult a doctor for evaluation.

YES you should get vaccinated as the plastic is dirty so it is a contaminated wound.

Since you already received a tetanus injection just 1 year ago, you are protected. A repeat TT is not required now, even though the cut is dirty. Just clean the wound thoroughly with soap and water, apply antiseptic, and watch for signs of infection. If your vaccination status is incomplete or uncertain, then TT and sometimes immunoglobulin may be advised — but in your case, with TT 1 year back, no repeat is needed

I would advise you to take, tetanus immunoglobulin, as vaccine would produce antibiotics late. IF it is un-affordable, then take complete 3 dose of vaccination, then you will be safe for next 5 years.
