Symptoms of depression
Symptoms like loss of appetite, sleep difficulties, weight loss, headache, recurrent nightmares, mood swings, negativity, suicidal thoughts, self harming thoughts, hopelessness, absent mindedness, social isolation. At times I feel physical pain especially around my shoulders when I am in distress. Nightmares are too common. Sleeplessness and sleepiness due to lack of sleep is on going. Almost complete social isolation especially face to face interactions and talks are rare and very short. Attempted to harm myself a few times. Period of extreme sadness. Almost complete loss of self care.

Hello dear Practo user, you have described your problem perfectly in details. But what is the total duration of suffering? Any stressful event in your life? It's a clear case of depression but it is more severe. You should start antidepressant ASAP along with some councelling.

Hi Dear You seem going through a lot at this early age. It is very important to experience all kinds of emotions as happiness. I can also sense that you are not able to involve yourself in work or pleasurable activities. Also there is a lot of stress you are experiencing. As a professional it is important that we know what are the precipitating factors to this. For better understanding a you can visit a clinical psychologist for a clinical assessment of the condition.
