With your past history of CNS and pulmonary TB, a new enlarged node above the collar bone should not be ignored, but please do not panic either. It can be a reactive node from a simple infection, but recurrence of TB in the lymph nodes is also possible, so it needs proper evaluation rather than guesswork. Please get an ultrasound of the neck, CBC, ESR and a chest X-ray to start with. If the node is more than 1.5 cm, hard, fixed or growing, a FNAC or biopsy of the node will give the exact answer, and that is the definitive test. Also tell your doctor if you have fever, night sweats, cough or weight loss. Start with a general physician; depending on findings you may be referred to a chest physician or an ENT surgeon for the FNAC. Please avoid restarting any TB medicine on your own. You may consult me on Practo or at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj with your old TB records and we can guide you further.
Yes it is a serious problem
Preferrably a general surgeon first so he can guide u better , i am a gener surgery resident myself so if we can have a chat i can put your mind to rest and guide u accurately
