Swollen gums is a sign of gum disease or problem. Get it checked by a dentist or periodontist (gum specialist). A gum swelling that comes and goes intermittently could be an abscess. Please get it checked along with a tooth X-ray. Depending on that, first you will need a basic deep teeth cleaning and later further treatment based on the X-ray and clinic check up (if required).
