Swelling on one side of the cheek with severe pain is most commonly due to a dental infection (tooth abscess, gum infection, or wisdom tooth issue). Antibiotics alone may not help unless the source of infection is treated.
Next Steps
Urgent dental examination with X-ray is advised
• Take pain relief medication as prescribed
• Do warm saline gargles
• If swelling increases, fever develops, or mouth opening becomes difficult, seek care without delay
