Is she having any other disease (any arthritis like rheumatoid)?? If not looking like a case of osteoarthritis that is age related degeneration of joint . Depending upon her symptoms better you do a bilateral knee standing x rays Ap and lateral view . If symptoms are worst and she is even not able to walk for 500 meters you should think in direction of surgical treatment. If she can walk more than 500 meters you can take consultation and she can be treated conservatively.
Next Steps
Consultant after x rays
