I have one of my gum swell up. It happened days back then i started doing regular water rinsing. It disappeared. Yesterday i did a toothbrush which again made it swell.

It may be due to two possible cause
1. The tooth of the involved gum region is cavitated which cause spread of infection periaically and cause periapical abcess
2.Lateral spread of infection through gum region (lateral to the teeth without involving it)a
