Sustained pain (wisdom)
I had a surgery for lower wisdom tooth extraction. I am on pain killer and antibiotics for the past 5 days. I am still experiencing pain in jaw bone till head skull. Is this normal? Should i do a xray n check ?

Hello there....need not to worry ...it happens ...if pain remains the same after 2 weeks of extraction...visit your dentist ... Keep that area clean to promote the healing ... Take care ...!!

Hi..wisdom tooth extraction pain often persists more time than expected. Usually 7-10 days. If it still persists more than 15 days then visit your dentist again for check up. Regards

Sorry to hear that Sometimes the pain can persist for 5 to 7 days after a difficult wisdom tooth extraction but you should be experiencing less pain with time . it would be advisable to have a word with your treating surgeon..a clinical examination would be necessary but an x ray may not necessarily reveal anything significant. Please consult a dentist / surgeon to rule out a dry socket... That's what can give significant pain even after a few days .
