Surgery wound scar
Hello sir/ Madam. I had a road accident on August 5th and got injured on my forehead. After the injury, I had surgery and stitches were placed. The stitches were removed on August 20th. Now, there is a large scar on my forehead. I would like to know how to reduce or remove the scar. Which treatment or procedure would be most helpful for improving its appearance. Now I am using only a moisturizer once as per doctor advice. Please share the treatments which can help me.

Formation of a scar post sutures/stitches is common. Give it 8-12 weeks of time before planning for scar reduction treatment.
Next Steps
Discuss in detail about scar reduction procedures.

As per photo the scar is very healthy and will leave very minimal scar in long term. Let it settle in next 4-6 weeks and then we can use various methods for scar reduction

Facial injuries take a few weeks to heal and the scar may fade gradually. You can try mebo scar ointment. But the definite treatment is plastic surgical procedure, which gives the best result.

Since the stitches were removed only a few days ago, the scar is still in the healing phase. Scars usually take several months to mature and gradually fade.
Next Steps
For improving the appearance: Use sunscreen daily on the scar to prevent darkening. Silicone gel or silicone sheets are commonly recommended to soften and flatten scars. Gentle scar massage with your moisturizer can help improve healing. Procedures options like laser treatment, microneedling, chemical peels, steroid injections, or surgical scar revision can be considered with a dermatologist or plastic surgeon.
Health Tips
For now, continue your doctor’s advice, keep the area clean and moisturized, and avoid picking at the scar. If needed, you can consult a dermatologist after a few weeks to discuss additional treatments.
