Suffering from Iron Deficiency Anemia
I have been suffering from anemia for the past 6–7 years. During this time, I have also experienced typhoid and stomach infections 2–3 times. Despite receiving multiple treatments and following a healthy, iron-rich diet, my hemoglobin level remains consistently low. Last year, my Hb was 6.8 g/dL, and after treatment, I expected improvement. However, when I recently got my blood work done again, my Hb is still 6.8, with no significant change. Over time, I have also noticed unexplained weight loss and progressive paleness of my skin. I have had my liver, thyroid, and blood sugar checked — all reports are within normal limits. Yet, I continue to feel weak, and my condition seems to be worsening. Unfortunately, most doctors I have visited simply prescribe strong medications, which are difficult to tolerate, but they have not explained the underlying cause of my anemia. I am very worried 😢, and I feel that my health is declining despite my efforts.

Since your a female the primary cause would be heavy bleeding during menses , but given the fact you have suffering the same since 6-7 years , it may or may not be the cause . Primary questions would be , is your platelet and wbc count low or within normal range . And work up would be further decided based on that .
Next Steps
Cbc with peripheral smear Retic count Needs follow up.
