Subchronic collection 17*9 mm
Hello doctor, My wife 26yrs old pregnant about 9 weeks. We have done a sonography yesterday and there is Subchronic collection of 17*9 mm. Fetal heart rate is 174 bpm and all other things  are normal. She is on duphaston and folic acid. Is it normal ?

It is not normal but in the case of your wife it seems to be under control. She had some bleed behind the placenta which stopped spontaneously. About 2 ml of blood got collected which is still there.  It will get absorbed spontaneously. She is getting appropriate treatment.

Consider for hcg/proluton injections. Take rest. It may resolve with time. But you have to be in regular follow up with your gynaecologist as it might increase also. So whenever you feel excessive bleeding or pain kindly consult a gynaecologist

The collection is not normal rest and progesterone support is the only treatment that can be offered

sub chorionic hemorrhage sometimes subsides ,sometimes if it increases can lead to abortions . complete bed rest is required
