Based on this, your symptoms strongly indicate a chronic pattern of gastritis or Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD). When large volumes of food or highly spicy dishes irritate your sensitive stomach lining, it triggers excessive acid production and gas accumulation, leading to a persistent burning sensation. However, for a proper diagnosis and to check for underlying factors like an H. pylori bacterial infection or esophageal inflammation after 2 to 3 years of symptoms, a clinical review is necessary. Eating heavy portions right after sleeping or consuming irritating spices puts extra mechanical and chemical stress on your gastrointestinal tract, causing the acid to pool or travel upwards. Over a multi-year timeline, this continuous irritation can make your stomach lining increasingly sensitive to everyday foods, making structured lifestyle adjustments and medical guidance essential.
