Stomach bloating and heaviness
Hi I have severe bloating and feeling heavy/full all the time.  Tummy looks very huge   like 9 months pregnant and always popping out.  I also have burning sensation in the upper abdomen, nausea, heartburn ,regurgitation.   I had an upper endoscopy last month and it showed up reactive gastropathy.  Dr told me to continue PPI medicine.   Been taking it for last 4 months.   No changes yet.   Dr sent me for an right upper abdomen ultrasound and got the results today.  She said she is doing this ultrasound to check for liver, gallbladder.    I am trying to understand myself what this indicates and if anything makes sense to my symptoms and discomfort. Does the report says anything serious? Is this reversible?  I see that it says something about liver size and condition. Is that something serious? Is that reversible? Any medication that helps with it? I don't take much oil or fat. How to reverse the condition? My endoscopy showed reactive gastropathy. Is that because of liver condition.

Your ultrasound scan suggests a Fatty Liver. You should also tell about your height, weight, BP and abdomen and chest girth. You should get your Blood sugar F&PP and Lipid profile done. Consult a General Physician with all the information.

It sounds like you're dealing with quite a bit of discomfort. Reactive gastropathy can cause symptoms like bloating, nausea, and heartburn, and it's often related to irritation of the stomach lining. The ultrasound of the right upper abdomen is typically done to check for issues with the liver and gallbladder, which can sometimes contribute to digestive symptoms. The ultrasound report indicates hepatic steatosis, which is commonly known as fatty liver. This condition means there's an accumulation of fat in the liver cells. It's often related to factors like diet, alcohol consumption, obesity, or metabolic conditions. The liver size is at the upper limit of normal, and the gallbladder and other structures appear unremarkable. Fatty liver can be reversible, especially if it's in the early stages. Lifestyle changes such as a healthy diet, regular exercise, and reducing alcohol intake can help improve liver health. Since your endoscopy showed reactive gastropathy, it's possible that both conditions could be related to dietary habits or other lifestyle factors. To help manage your symptoms and improve your liver condition, could you share more about your current diet and any lifestyle habits that might be relevant? This will help in providing more tailored advice.
