Ssri withdrawal and long term solution
I have severe OCD and depression diagnosed by doctors. I was getting treatment from Psychiatrists for 5 years and missing a dosage made me realise they made me numb and apathetic and also did mess with my memory and creativity. ever since I tapered off the meds I have been experiencing hyperarousal getting scared of every little things, itching and allergies that are severe. ever since I have been on these meds I have noticed I got fats on my wierd parts of body like chest and butt also thighs even though I'm skinny. also I can't think straight even now and my memory is worse and my speech is too slurred that people can't understand what I say, also my voice changed, I used to be smart before but now I think I became dumber. I am looking for a solution to my problem, I'm seeing many people get remission after treating their underlying condition like sub hypothyroidism, vitamin deficiency and imbalance of sex hormones I wonder if that is an alternative or not for my situation. guide me.

Hi, there is always an option to connect with your doctor and change them if you want. Just one thing you have to do is following the doctor's prescription for taking medications. Talk to a therapist also, that will be helpful.

You may discuss these concerns with your doctor. You are free to change your doctor to see if they can change the medications and also the therapy modes. Also do keep conected with a Psychologist who can help with a better management of OCD. This way you can help yourself better and therefore it can reduce your dependency on the medicines and you can become self reliant.
Next Steps
Include a Psychologist in your treatment.

I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. I suggest taking another opinion of a senior psychiatrist, and I wonder if you are taking psychotherapy to manage all the distress.
Next Steps
If not, please consider starting psychotherapy as I feel that you require continued support on calming your stress, and grounding yourself.

Sorry to hear that. OCD is a severe mental illness that often requires lifelong management. Discuss alternative medication options with your treating doctor if the medication side effects are intolerable. Along with medication, psychotherapy can be useful in managing symptoms. There is little evidence to show that correcting vitamin deficiency or hormonal imbalances can induce remission, however you can discuss with your treating doctor about these options and try them.
