yes , if the xray is confirming it then we can do helisectioning and place a smaller crown on it

It can. But a thorough checkup is required for the same. A proper x-ray will help in planning better. If this has happened long back and there is infection it might go for extraction. However there are more chances of hemisection and performing root canal
