My son is 2.5 years old. He repeats everything what others say. If he wants water then he says mamma water. But when we ask question to him he just repeats. Is it normal or matter of concern

Any child developing Speech goes through some specific steps.. Repeating question again at this age is a normal learning phase in any child, which disappears as he develops further..between 2 to 3 yrs a child should start making a sentence and interested in hearing a story..if he or she lacks it then needs evaluation or help of a speech therapist..
Is he able to speak in 2-3 word sentences?? Are there any communication issues or behavioural issues..He needs to be assessed by the pediatrician first.
He has to be seen by a paediatrician and also we have to assess his other aspects of interaction. His eyecontact, response to peers, known and unknown people etc..All this can be done on online consultation too.
