Clicking sound without any pain or discomfort is normal in a young female.. It is called as physiological clicking. But sometimes weakness of VMO and tight IT band can lead to maltreking of patella causing a click
Next Steps
One can  work on strengthening the VMO muscles and releasing/streching the IT band .
Health Tips
Avoid deep squats as that puts extra strain on patella.. strengthen your quadriceps and VMO muscles.
