Soft cervix at 25 weeks
My wife is currently 25 weeks pregnant.she was facing stomach tightening from last week. She had sometimes 5-6 times an hour or sometimes not at all. so doctor checked her cervix and they find it is soft and closed. Then they ordered fetal fibronectin test which came negative. And cervical length through vaginal ultrasound came 3.3cm.Doctor has asked her to take easy and have fluids but can someone tell me why her cervix is soft.Is she going in preterm labor? what causes cervix to soften.is it risky to have soft cervix?

Cervix is soft because she is pregnant. A soft cervix is a sign of normal pregnancy.
