Hello,
I have a son who is 22 years old. In the last couple of years he avoids to get in contact with other people apart from his closed one and family. He was studying computer in a small town away from us but before the end of the first year he stopped attending any classes claiming that he does not find any interest there anymore. He claims that he is happy like this and he refuses to see a therapist. We can't continue to support him financially indefinitely something has to be done.

Your son may be suffering from depression or as you said it might be social anxiety. There might be some issues in college like bullying which need to be looked at. Either way I feel he needs to be evaluated by a psychiatrist to understand why this is happening and the psychiatrist should be able to suggest next steps.
