Please note- psychiatrists deal largely through medicine and not therapy. What you need is a psychotherapist. CBT is a good way to work on your problem, but it requires you to do some work on your problem also. I sounds like you are suffering from 'social anxieties'. How long has this been going on for? Unfortunately i do not know any psychotherapists in Dehradun or Meerut. May be Practo can help. Often times that kind of mental processes that go behind these anxieties is a fear of being judged or criticized and a belief that you always will be subject to a critical evaluation where ever you go, Perhaps this is because you have vey little faith in your own self worth. Perhaps you are the one who is your worst and most severe critic? Perhaps therefore, you assumption that others will not like you come from a belief about yourself that you are not a likable person? Surely you can begin to see how unrealistic this view of your self must be? Spend some time trying to make a more realistic evaluation of your self. Also don't spend too much time sitting alone and ruminating. I am available to chat with you on this in more detail through the 'chat' option on Practo Consult.
