Hello Doctor,
I have social anxiety. Whenever I have to talk to professional people, especially female colleagues or female professionals, I experience a rapid heartbeat, nervousness, and intense anxiety.
Earlier, I was prescribed Inderal 20 mg, and it helped me manage these symptoms. I may be rejoining my job soon. Before taking it again, I wanted to ask whether it would be safe and appropriate for me to restart Inderal 20 mg, especially if I am also taking my current medication.
I would be grateful for your guidance.
Thank you, Doctor.

Your symptoms are suggestive of social anxiety disorder, but whether any medication can be safely restarted depends on your current medications, medical conditions, and overall clinical assessment. A review with your treating psychiatrist is important before making any changes.
Next Steps
Consult your psychiatrist before restarting any previous medication, especially if you are already taking other prescribed medicines.
Health Tips
Along with treatment, cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), relaxation techniques, and gradual exposure to social situations can be very effective for social anxiety.
Hi,
If Inderal 20 mg helped you previously, it may be appropriate to restart it, but only after reviewing your current medication, blood pressure, pulse, and any history of asthma or heart conditions. Please let me know the name and dose of your current medication so I can guide you better. Avoid restarting it on your own until we check for any possible interactions.
