After a major spine surgery like L4-L5 disc operation, sleep disturbance is very common and can persist for months. The inability to stay in one position, crying, and excessive thinking are signs of both post-surgical pain and post-operative anxiety, which often go hand-in-hand after major surgeries. This is not unusual but does need to be addressed â both the physical discomfort and the mental stress component.
Next Steps
Contact the operating surgeon to review current pain levels and posture support during sleep â a specific sleeping position or pillow placement may help. Gentle counseling or relaxation techniques can significantly help with the overthinking. Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation.
