Sleepless and chest tightness
"I experienced chest tightness and consulted a cardiologist for diagnosis. He conducted all necessary tests, including ECG, TMT, 2D Echo, and a Troponin test, and all results were normal. At that time, my BP was 130/90. The doctor prescribed Metoprolol Succinate Extended-Release Tablets IP 25 mg.
After taking it for five days, I experienced side effects such as sleeplessness, and there was no relief from the chest tightness, so I stopped the medication. I visited the same doctor again, and he prescribed sleeping pills for a few days. I was able to sleep only when taking the sleeping pills.
Now, my BP is normal, but I still have trouble sleeping, and sometimes I experience chest pain. How can I overcome these side effects? Please suggest a solution."
