Initially, it appeared as a small red patch with a few clustered red bumps. It wasn’t swollen, but slightly itchy and mildly tender. I’ve been cleaning the area with Dettol, applying Betadine antiseptic, and doing occasional icing.
Over the past 48 hours, the redness has become more localized, and now there’s a central lesion with a whitish-greyish crusty center, and a few smaller satellite bumps nearby. The central one is a bit raised, but there’s no pus, no discharge, no heat, and no significant swelling.
It is not painful, but lightly itchy when touched. No fever or systemic symptoms.
I’m attaching a recent picture as well. Does this look like it could be a healing insect bite, localized folliculitis, or possibly early tinea? Should I continue with Betadine or switch to something else.

The pattern you're describingâcentral crusting with satellite bumpsâcould fit a few possibilities like early tinea, localized folliculitis, or even a healing insect bite. Each of these has a distinct treatment approach, and using the wrong one can delay healing or even worsen the condition.
Since skin infections can mimic each other closely, especially in early stages, it's important to visually assess the lesion and surrounding skin. An online consult would allow to examine the photo closely and guide you accuratelyâthis way, you avoid trial-and-error and get faster relief.
No need to worry.specific treatment is available.it depends on severity of the disease . Complete medical history is required..
Pls do online consultation with Dermatologist for detailed prescription & guidance.
