Shin and calf pain
Have been playing and fast bowling on hard surface (astroturf). Due to this I have been having discomfort and pain in my left shin and calf now. I have been icing it but comes back after I play again. What can be done?

Hello Practo user How long have you been playing?? You Should start your training first under proper guidance of trainer.Don't overplay.Gradually play and run. Proper Strengthening exercises are must for players.

Use good quality shoes and guards. Even check your foot Do you have flat foot? If weight is going on your one side of foot this may also cause pain.And what is your weight???

It may be due to shin splints? Avoid running /walking /playing on cemented surface. Or get best quality cushion shoes during physical workout. Avoid over strain in ankle and knees like jumping. Keep doing icing but not more than 10 minutes if ice pieces. Do stretching after running and strengthening before workout. If you wanted some more for exercises and all please consult personally. Hi You might be having pain because of shin splint which is common in runners and occurs mostly due to running on hard surface. If you have started playing newly then you need to follow proper technique. Also you need good strengthening and stretching exercises.

Hello, How long has it been since the pain started and also what was the course of it, is it continuous Or intermittent pain or only while playing?
