Scared of ct scan and nasal polyp
I was having some nasal congestion since a week, ent examined physically with scope said its nasal polyp. Asked me for ct scan. I know thats the next course of action but i am a hypochondriac and due to the health anxiety i keep overthinking that what if the ct scan will show something sinister like cancer and as a result i am continuously delaying it. I want to cry so badly for being such a coward. But the fear of cancer is too much for me. Please guide me doctors :(

In scopy we do come to know if it is more like polyp or cancer mass. Ct is required to know how big polyp is and extension ,so that doctor can plan thier surgery. But if you delay you will have a problem.

If you have excessive fear and overthinking habit,it's something related to psychological issues.do consult a psychiatrist for that.
