Hi..it is safe to undergo root canal even during pregnancy. No antibiotics, painkillers and x rays. Dentist will take care of it. Regards

Hi it's better you visit your near by dentist and get his opinion regarding the appropriate treatment. As you said your wife is pregnant she can under go treatment during her 2nd trimester (between 3rd n 6th month).so no need to worry about the treatment.but if you delay she can't get any treatment later as dental procedures are not going to finish in a single visit,it's going to become difficult for her to sit in the dental chair for treatment procedure.

Obviously the right treatment needs to be instituted as soon as possible for the relief of her symptoms.... we cannot delay this treatment for 4 more months..... medications can be prescribed by your dentist after a consultation with her gynecologist.... Regards....

Yes if its really a painful situation its better to start off the root canal therapy immediately. But it is important to make sure that no xrays will be made during the procedure. Also only certain antibiotics are to be prescribed and that too after the confirmation of the gynaecologist. Root canal's have been done successfully with use of apex locators in the past in our practice by an endodontist. So nothing to worry. Hope that answers your query. Regards
