Usually all dental procedure will be carried out only during 2 nd trimester of pregnancy....it is not safe doing dental treatment in 1 st trimister as the drugs given during the procedure will affects organogenesis of the child and during 3 rd trimester it may cause preterm labour of the child....

Root canal treatment in itself is safe. It is the anaesthesia and x-rays taken during the procedure that poses a risk. If your dentist has relevant equipment to avoid x-ray and anaesthesia, then you should be fine. Another option is get the tooth filled with a medication temporarily, and complete root canal after delivery.
