Always the safe procedure is to do RCT before going for cap.... It takes maximum 2-3 sittings.. RCT is a painless and comfortable procedure, you don't have to worry about it... Only if you have severe infection, pain will be there and for that also Antibiotics will be prescribed after starting RCT... Kindly do RCT and then put a cap on it... If you delay the treatment your tooth might fracture beneath the cap, due constant biting force..

Normally RCT takes 1-2 sessions. Capping may require further 2 sittings. Cost of root canal varies from 3000-8000 depending on the Clinic and doctor’s expertise .
