Root Canal and Tooth Surgery
Are root canal and tooth removal surgery painful? I have read that it is not painful but just wanted to ask professionals. Also, if it doesn't pain during the process, does it pain after the anesthetic effect gets over?

Both RCT and extraction done under local anaesthetic ,so both are painless. in case of extraction a pressure will be felt during operation time. When anaesthetic effect goes away prescribed medicines will help you to subside the pain
Next Steps
if you want to avoid any stressful procedures RCT is a better option.

Both rootcanal and extraction is painless without blocking your pain it is not possible to do the procedure... As compared to extraction, Root canal is more safest and painless treatment and after anaesthetic effect gets over, there is little pain in case of extraction but more painless in case of root canal....

They are not painful. Under local anesthesia you would not feel pain. After the anesthesia wears off, youd feel pain but the pain medication would help control the pain

Root canal treatments and extractions are done under local anaesthesia to block away the pain sensation. Sometimes people do feel pressure while the tooth is being removed but that’s not painful. Definition of extraction is painless removal of tooth, hence there is nothing to be scared of. Once the anaesthesia wears off, there is tenderness which can be managed with analgesics(painkillers).
Next Steps
Post operative care is advised by the doctor which is case specific.
Health Tips
General advice: Soft and cold diet after extraction for the first 24 hours. No vigorous mouth rinsing.
