Allergic rhinitis does not cause voice change ... Kindly elaborate on the voice change is it husky or breathy voice ? ... Is there any history of smoking or drinking or chewing tobacco ? ... Also is there any history of any other medical condition like hypertension etc .. for now just ask him to take steam inhalation and avoid hot and spicy food ... kindly consult an ent doctor

Some more symptoms needs to be assessed before coming to the diagnosis of voice change. Voice is altered in many diseases also and if medication does so that only remains for 15 to 20 mins. Patient should get laryngoscopy done before any final thought in the mind.
