Resume medicines after typhoid
Person had typhoid a week back. Now she is fine. Reports are also normal. So now can she start taking her ongoing ayurvedic medicines which she has been taking since a month for fibroid and cyst and period problem. Medicines are : ushirasava, ashokarista, kachnar gugullu, vriddhi vatika vati and cystogrit. Is it ok to start continue it again as typhoid is cured or should she wait for other few days?

Thanks for trusting Ayurved and choosing to seek a second opinion from Ayurveda Dr Satish. It's always better to conclude virechan(trivrut-trifala-manuka) and Apunarbhav Rasayan therapy after jwar vyadhi then can be planned fibroid n cyst management protocol which Rakta-mans- dhatu shudhhi. It's always better to communicate with treating dr. Self medicine won't serve the purpose

If the typhoid episode has been completely treated, fever has resolved, appetite and digestion are returning to normal, and the patient is clinically well, there is generally no need to permanently discontinue her ongoing Ayurvedic treatment for fibroid/cyst and menstrual concerns. However, I would not recommend restarting all five preparations simultaneously immediately after typhoid, because the digestive system can remain sensitive for some time after the infection. Relapse of typhoid can occur, particularly within the first few weeks after recovery, so this period is better used for gradual recovery and observation.
Next Steps
Since she has been taking Ushirasava, Ashokarishta, Kanchanar Guggulu, Vriddhivadhika Vati and Cystogrit for another ongoing condition, the decision to restart should ideally be made after reviewing her current symptoms, appetite, bowel habits, energy level and the exact composition/dose of each preparation. If she is completely afebrile and clinically recovered, a short recovery interval of several days to about 1–2 weeks before resuming the full regimen is a reasonable cautious approach, particularly if she still has weakness or digestive sensitivity. Health Tips
During the recovery period, keep meals light, freshly prepared and easy to digest, maintain adequate hydration and gradually return to her normal diet and physical activity as strength returns. Avoid very spicy, oily or heavy meals until digestion is completely comfortable. If fever returns, significant abdominal pain, persistent diarrhoea/constipation, vomiting, marked weakness or loss of appetite develops, the Ayurvedic regimen should be paused and she should be reviewed by her treating physician, as typhoid relapse can occur after apparent recovery. Thank you
