No need to stop your regular medication for minor cold, cough. You can just continue your regular medication along with levocetrizine once daily at evening for 3-5days for your cold and cough.

Yes you can continue your regular Propanolol tablet during a short 2-3 days cold. 1.Avoid common cold medicines with decongestants like • Pseudoephedrine • Phenylephrine —Use safer options - Antihistamines like cetirizine or loratadine (usually safe) Be cautious if they have asthma or wheezing • Propranolol can worsen breathing problems • If cough is associated with wheezing, shortness of breath, or chest tightness, you should seek for medical advice urgently.

Betablockers including Propranolol must never be stopped suddenly more so if on a higher dose. Sometimes people notice they become a bit wheezy when they have a cold/cough when they take Propranolol. If that happens with you, can ask your doctor to switch to another betablocker. All the best. J G S R clinic
