Regarding Braces
Hello Dr, i have a doubt regarding braces. I have an unerupted tooth which is hidden and i have to bring it to its original position. When coming across different types of braces, I happened upon invisible braces(aligners) which are said to be better than self ligating braces. I want to know if it is possible to use these for my teeth or only self ligating braces is possible for my condition?

Hello, In certain cases clear aligners can also be used to bring an impacted tooth into its correct position with help of additional auxiliaries. But in certain cases, depending on the position of the impacted (hidden ) tooth it is difficult to get expected results with aligners. So the orthodontist may suggest fixed braces - either conventional or self ligating, again based on thorough check up and planning.
Next Steps
Share pictures and xray for a better idea. Visit an orthodontist (braces specialist) for your treatment.

Hi given your condition with the teeth being unerupted/ impacted we may have to use certain orthodontic techniques in combination with aligners. Any given day the aligner technology and accuracy of treatment is better but the severity and complexity of the case should also be taken into consideration. On the other hand self ligating braces also work very effectively and faster compared to traditional treatment. Before commenting on what would be the ideal choice of treatment, the factors affecting the treatment plan should be taken into consideration.
Next Steps
Kindly consult a dentist to get the exact picture of what kind of treatment would be apt for you.
Health Tips
Photographs and xrays if any can help in understanding the case better.
