Rabies vaccine
I’m not sure if it was a bite or a scratch from a dog last month — it was a minor scratch with a little blood. The doctor advised me to take 3 doses of ARV on days 0, 3, and 7. I took the first two doses on the gluteal region and the third dose on the upper arm. Is that okay, or should I take an additional dose? Since I missed the 14th-day dose, can I take an extra dose on the 28th day?

extra dose isnt required you can take the missed day dose on the next available day and the 28th day dose can be taken 1-2 days later also its absolutely fine since antibodies production is already started in the body

It would be better if you complete the vaccination schedule according to standard regimen as 0,3,7,14,28th day(5doses)

There are two types of rabies vaccines, one given to muscle other to sub cutaneous. If ur taking at gluteal it is intra muscular. So according to who it has to be 4 doses. If u have missed last dose please do take it asap

If you have been completely vaccinated according to the Immunisation Schedule in your childhood, the recent 3 doses are enough to boost your immunity against rabies. No matter where the vaccine is administered, either your glutes or arms, it is the course to be taken.

Firstly, the rabies vaccine (ARV) should never be injected on the gluteal region (buttock), because fat in that area reduces vaccine absorption and may compromise protection. The correct sites are the deltoid (upper arm) for adults or the anterolateral thigh for children.
Now, regarding your schedule —
The standard post-exposure vaccination schedule is Days 0, 3, 7, 14, and 28 (the 5-dose Essen regimen).
Since you missed your Day-14 dose, take it as soon as possible, even if today is Day-28 — don’t skip it.
Then, take your final (Day-28) dose after one week of the delayed one. This will help complete your immunity.
You do not need to restart the entire series, but completing all 5 doses correctly is important. Also, if the bite was deep or bleeding, rabies immunoglobulin (RIG) should be considered if not already taken.

It is ideal to complete 4 doses as per latest protocols.
Days: 0,3,7,28.
Along with a TT injection on Day 0.
Arm/Glutes doesnt matter as long as its taken aspectically.
Care for the affected area is also must. Wash and use antibiotics cream till wound completely healed.
