Fever with chills for 8â10 days despite negative initial tests needs a fresh clinical examination rather than more blind antibiotics. Please review the fever pattern and medicines, and consider urine testing, COVID/flu testing and chest evaluation as indicated. Continue fluids and paracetamol only as directed; seek urgent care for breathlessness, confusion, persistent vomiting, severe abdominal pain or low urine. You may book a Practo consult or meet me at Synergy Multispeciality Hospital, Miraj.
Hello it is normal to feel anxious when symptoms persists despite negative testing . Firstly i would like to clear that sometimes these tests turns out to be false negatives.
Further i would like to hear more from you regarding the symptoms for eg what has been the type of fever - timing, duration, low /high grade, associated symptoms- vomiting , headache , burning sensation during urination , bowel habits , is there any cough cold associated or not ?
Also describe more about the abdominal discomfort you are having- site of pain, duration , intensity, associated with any other factors causing it to relieve or aggravate, migrates or not ?
Also please mention your city state if any local endemic disease might be prevalent in your area
Next Steps
For now you can also have Routine Urine examination( Urine R/M) to rule out UTI , a basic LFT tests to see if any Liver enzymes elevated to rule out Hepatitis
Continue Paracetamol for symptomatic control
Maintain adequate hydration adequate rest
If any other symptoms develop you can surely ask out
