Weight Alain in pregnancy is not even throughout the pregnancy. It is less in the first trimester and more in the second and third trimester of pregnancy. So don’t worry and hope rest everything is going fine with you as per ur obstetrician. All the very best

Hi. If fetal growth is adequate on usg, need not worry about your weight gain. Weight gain depends on many factors. Also there is a wide range of normal weight gain. Also permitted weight gain depends on your pre pregnancy BMI

Hello, the weight gain happens in last 3 months of pregnancy. So you will gain weight now on. Also more imp is foetal growth which can be accessed by serial sonography and charting it on growth graph. So you foetal weight is also growing adequately.

Hello , As you have completed the seventh month of your pregnancy , 4 kg weight gain is a little low .
Next Steps
Get a growth scan done - if the baby’s growth is normal , please do the following . 1 ) eat small frequent meals , eat whatever you like . 2 ) consume protein powder ( many are available in the market ) . Mix 2 tablespoons of the powder with a glass of milk and drink it 3) avoid any stress factors . Relax by doing what you like . 4 ) get adequate rest - 2 hours in the afternoon ( u only need to lie down , even if u don’t sleep ) and atleast 8 hours of sleep in the night . 5 ) avoid any strenuous exercise ( if you are doing it ) . Keep yourself active with simple walking or prenatal yoga .
Health Tips
Weight yourself using the same weighing machine every time , to avoid any errors owing to the machine . Go for regular check ups and make sure you follow your gynaecologists advice on the frequency of growth monitoring scans for the baby .

Hi if the growth of your baby is adequate for your period of pregnancy by scan  then it is ok...but still u need to eat a healthy food, adequate rest, good amount of hydration to prevent your baby from developing late onset growth retardation.

Weight gain in normal pregnancy is about 8-10 kg. but for women who are overweight, ideal weight gain should be less . So your 4 kg weight gain depends on what your pre pregnancy weight was and how this pregnancy is proceeding. Discuss with your Obstetrician who is caring for you during this pregnancy. She will help you best.

Seems to be a bit on lower side, but not to worry, there is still plenty of time. You can take pregnancy specific supplements. Also take an opinion of Dietitian. Have a balanced diet of fruits, vegetables, pulses, grains, milk and curd

Weight gain during pregnancy is a very subjective thing. It may be called correct amount of weight gain depending on your pre pregnancy weight. Gaining 9-11 kg weight during total pregnancy is normal. The weight gain during the first 3 months is usually less due to loss of appetite and nausea and vomiting. If one is underweight when she gets pregnant, if may be good for her to put on some extra kgs. But if a patient is already overweight to begin with, she should ideally not gain more than 5-7 kg in her entire pregnancy. During antenatal check ups, if your baby's growth is within normal limits, then this much weight gain also is normal. The protein powders that are available, most of them have huge amount of added sugars. So having a protein powder may not be advised by me. Instead you can consume more protein in your diet. One egg per day, milk and milk products ( milk, buttermilk, curd, paneer) , thoroughly cooked non veg food( fish and chicken) , sprouts, soyabean ( tofu or the soyabean chunks or the soyabean atta mixed with wheat atta to make chapatis) are good options.
