Post fissure surgery
Hi dr I underwent anal fissure surgery ... even after 15 days I can feel sharp pain while pooping externally it's healed.. internally I am feeling Pain ... how long does it take to heal ? Any medicines to be recommended

Please consult your Surgeon who did the operation. You have spent money on your Surgery. Let your Surgeon be responsible for whatever happens to you. Let him not get a chance to say that  "you have been taking the wrong treatment".

Post operative pain due to fissure could last upto 2-4 weeks as it's a sensitive area.Take pain reliever, avoid constipation.If no response consult your surgeon for a clinical examination and appropriate management.

You can add ZERODOLE SP Three times a day after food for five days or sos for pain. Plenty of water n liquid to keep stool soft, light diet specially in night.

Make sure you avoid constipation and hard stool, maintain good hydration and have fibre rich diet. You can take the pain medicine that your surgeon must have prescribed post surgery on sos basis. In case the pain persists and it’s very discomforting kindly consult your surgeon.

Pain should reduce gradually with healing and depend on the extent of lesion and the type of procedure done. If you feel pain is not reducing or getting worse, get yourself examined again by your surgeon.  Take diet as recommended by your treating doctor.
