A general physician can absolutely examine and diagnose piles and manage early-to-moderate cases without jumping straight to surgery. Surgery is only recommended for severe or advanced piles that do not respond to conservative treatment — most early cases can be managed well with dietary changes, stool softeners, and topical treatments. You do not need to go directly to a surgeon for an initial evaluation.
Next Steps
Please consult me directly on Practo for a detailed evaluation — I can assess your condition and guide you on whether surgery is actually needed or if it can be managed conservatively.

Should visit surgeon! Anyways If don't want surgery then can consult physician first for symptomatic treatment, later do as per required.

Hi! It is always better to go to a specialist once a diagnosis is clear. Piles can be a misnomer for anything which causes a bleeding or pain. It is always better to get evaluated as history can be very misleading in such cases. You can always refuse surgical treatment and opt for medical management. Feel free to consult for more!
Next Steps
Get diagnosed by a general surgeon, proceed according to your diagnosis.
