Pet scan in fever
My father is suffering from fever (100.5) from last 1 month. All blood test reports (except esr which is 42), ct scan chest abdominal, X ray, ultrasound are normal. He is right side paralyzed from last 10 years but able to perform his own task and unable to speak. His heart is alos working only 36%. Now doc has suggested to pet scan as he was not ready for colonoscopy. So is pet scan safe to be done for such a body who is having lots of complications. His fever is still raising. What should we do

Patients who have normal kidney function (creatinine clearance) and don't have history of allergy to iv contrast can safely undergo PET CT SCAN.

But why it's been advised?
