Perioral dermatitis
I have had perioral dermatitis for the past 3 months and was prescribed desonide gel. I used it for 2 months and had flare ups when I stopped using it for a day or two, which made me continue using it .As soon as I found out it was a steroid, I stopped using it and had the worst flare up. I started using azelaic acid cream in the meantime and went to another doctor. She prescribed me flutibact ointment for 2 days a week and zimba lotion for remaining 5 days. But the ointment also contains steroids and Iam scared it will worsen the condition or cause another flare up. I did message the doctor about it but she told me to follow through the prescription. What should I do in this case?

This looks like steroid-induced perioral dermatitis with rebound flare after stopping desonide.
Next Steps
Use Flutibact 2x/week only as a short taper. Zimba lotion is a good non-steroidal option—continue it. Avoid harsh products and follow a gentle skincare routine.
Health Tips
Improvement can take 4–6 weeks. If flares persist, consider oral antibiotics under supervision.
