Both are same The only treatment is to exercise n maintain a healthy bmi Metformin only helps in weight reduction Both ovaries hv polycystic pattern

There is no difference. One is an older term. The other one is a more modern term. Metformin helps in controlling PCOS. There are two ovaries. So when both ovaries in the disease process it becomes bilateral PCOS.
