Closed fractures usually throw good callus and therefore unite well in about 3 months time allowing one to weight bear fully.. But open fractures usually unite fully only by 6-8 months.. so please follow ur docs advice otherwise u might end up breaking ur rod and screw and will need revision surgery.. The choice is urs!!!
Avoid bike riding and start partial weight bearing .Start doing strengthening exercises of leg like Ankle toe movement, knee isometric,Hip Joint movement.Visit the nearest physiotherapist for further treatment
Do not do what your doctor has not adviced to you because in terms of adversity, you may not be able to hold him responsible .
Go for a plain x-ray if you want to visualise Callus.
Dear Respected
I have gone through your problems.
12 wk is too early to get callous.
For more clear advice I need to examine you in details along with some investigation like x ray and blood test.
Revert back with all these.
