Pain, numbness and swelling in fingers
I dislocated my shoulder 2 days back. It was put back in position and I am given medicine for 5 days and sling for arm. I still have slight numbness, pain and swelling in my fingers along with pain in shoulder blade( which worsens when I lie down) and occasional tingling feeling on shoulder blade. Is all this normal and would subside once shoulder heals?

If the symptoms are gradually reducing, then you may wait, but if not, then consult a ortho surgeon.

Hi. Because of shoulder dislocation there can be mild compression over the nerve which may result in symptoms which you have elaborated. If the sensations are intact all over your arm and forearm and you are able to move elbow and hand, then no reason to panic now. It will go off with time Regarding the swelling in your fingers- was there any trauma to the hand? Swelling can happen when you have applied shoulder immobiliser too tight. If the symptoms persist even after a week. Consult your doctor Wishing you a speedy recovery..!!
