This pain can be due to 2 reasons.. It can be due to problem in the cervical area leading to nerve compression and trapezius muscle pain.. Or it can be due to problem in the shoulder region. Is it more painful at night, not able to move the hand behind your back, no able to move overhead? If yes, it can be a frozen shoulder... Best is to consult a physiotherapist for proper assessment, diagnosis and treatment.
Next Steps
Go to a physiotherapist.. Ultrasonic therapy, TENS, heat therapy and a few exercises will be helpful.
Health Tips
At home.. Do some hot water bottle fomentation and apply some painkiller gel, avoid cold exposure and avoid side lying on the same side of pain.

Hello Thanks for asking a question and having trust on Practo There could be many causes of shoulder main. The root cause could be in the neck. I would like to investigate few things in such case. How are shoulder movts. What is the Range of movements.See definitely  the neck stiffness. Is the pain more in the middle of the night? If taking your hand back and trying to pick some thing from back seat of the car is a issue then most probably you are heading towards Frozen shoulder. Go to physiotherapist she would investigate properly if needed can refer  for more detailed investigations . First go for basis analysis.

Hello there.  I can understand your concern. You can take a tab. Zerodol-th twice  a day after food for 2 days. If it still persists, then you will have to consult a orthopedician in person for further evaluation and management.  He might suggest some tests. Best regards. Dr. Anil kumar jain. Bangalore.
