Hello, i have noted your concern,
Pain near the IV cannulation site could be due to inflammation in that area which is known as thrombophlebitis if only pain is there it usually settles in few days nothing to be worried of, but if there are any other symptoms like fever, nausea chills then it really needs to get treated, just to prevent the spread of infection
Next Steps
Apply an ice pack or cold compression that will help
Otherwise use OTC ointment like thrombophobe ointment and apply it 3-4times at iv cannualtion site
Kindly consult for proper diagnosis, treatment and management.
Health Tips
If any increase in swelling or discharge from the site or any increase in pain, even after doing this, any fever spike or any other symptoms which are bothering you please consult a doctor, nearby hospital
