Pain in lower back and hip joint
My father slipped and fell.in the bathroom 3 weeks ago. 3 days after that he developed issue of gastro reflux. He felt fine after taking 5 days medication. Then a week back he developed severe paling in lower back and hip region. He was not able to move his legs. We had to take him to emergency. His x-ray was fine. Doctor said that it's just muscle stiffness and should go away in 2-3 days with hot fomentation and pain relieving gel. Doctor prescribed Dolo for pain. But his condition didn't improve even after 2-3 days of medication. Yesterday I consulted an orthopaedic doctor and he suggested some muscle relaxants( Zerodol TH4,Myoril 4 and pregaba NT) but there is no improvement after taking a day's medication. Can someone please suggest what should be the next course of action. Right now he is not able to lie down due to pain and sleeping in sitting position.

Mri screening of the whole spine needs to be done apart from clinical examination .

Thanks for reaching out.
3 weeks old fall is not related to the pain which developed 3 weeks back.
The pain needs to be described in more detail :
1. Did he lift any heavy weight or had any jerky movement before onset of pain ?
2. Does the pain radiate down the leg and heel?
3. Does he feel any tingling over calf or foot?
4. Does he have difficulty squatting or sitting cross legged?
5. Does the pain awaken him from sleep at night?
6. Is the pain related to walking?
7. Does the pain get better by sitting and lying down?
8. Does he have any medical issues and any treatment he is on?
9. Also his age you should mention.
So, for the time being it is difficult to ascertain the nature of problem. Only thing that is evident here is that the doctors have had some problem finding out the root cause. A few more answers from your side will help me reach a conclusion
