Swelling gum is the main caused by poor oral hygiene.depending on the severity of the swelling gum,you may be suffering from one of the two types of gum disease.1 is gingivitis 2 is periodontitis.please consultant your dentist

Gum can get swollen either due to gum infection or an infected tooth causing an abscess on the gum. Get a check up done and your dentist may do an X-ray if required. Treatment depends on the cause of the gum swelling
