Pain in crowned tooth
Hello Dr, I had my tooth cap done in Feb this year. From the last 2 days, I started feeling pain especially on pressure and bite. Gum also swelled. I went to dentist and had xray done, he said root canal not properly done. Sent the xray to my dentist who did all this, he said xray is proper...minor infection can be there and gave me medicine. Can you please check?

Hi Your X-ray shows a root canal-treated tooth with a crown, but there seems to be a possible periapical radiolucency, which may indicate a residual or developing infection. Since you're having pain, swelling, and tenderness on biting, it could be a case of persistent or secondary infection. I recommend continuing the antibiotics as prescribed and getting a proper clinical evaluation. If symptoms don’t improve in 3–5 days, a re-RCT retreatment might be required.
