It should settle by itself. Please use ‘Hirudoid cream’ daily on the bruise for a week. If you notice more bruises, then further tests are needed. All the best. www.jgsr-health-education.in

Right calf pain + bruise-like discoloration + area feeling hard can be due to:
Next Steps
✅ Check These Now Compare both legs: • Is right calf visibly more swollen? • Is it warm? • Is pain severe when walking? • Do you have recent long travel, surgery, OCP use? ⸻ If it looks like muscle bruise: For first 48 hours: • Rest • Ice pack 15 minutes every 3–4 hours • Elevate leg • Avoid massage After 48 hours: • Warm compress • Mild stretching Pain relief: • Paracetamol preferred • Avoid heavy NSAIDs if large bruise ⸻
Health Tips
✔ Avoid massaging hard area initially ✔ Do not ignore increasing swelling ✔ Stay hydrated ✔ Avoid prolonged sitting ✔ Gentle walking is okay if pain mild ⸻ Very Important Question Did you: • Have long travel recently? • Start any hormonal pills? • Have injury or fall? • Notice swelling in whole leg? Answering this will help determine if DVT risk is present. If symptoms are mild and localized, it is likely a muscle bruise. But if there is swelling of whole calf, please get Doppler ultrasound urgently.

From the picture, it looks like a mild bruise or muscle strain rather than something serious. Rest the leg, avoid long standing, and use cold compress for 1–2 days.
Next Steps
If pain increases, swelling spreads, or walking becomes difficult, please consult me immediately so I can examine you properly.

Dear Patient, Pain in the calf with bruising and hardness can occur due to muscle strain, minor trauma, or a small hematoma. However, in some cases, it could also indicate deep vein thrombosis (DVT), especially if swelling, warmth, or redness is present. DVT is serious and needs urgent evaluation. What you should do - Rest the leg and avoid strenuous activity - Apply cold compress for the first 24–48 hours if trauma is suspected - Keep the leg elevated when resting - Monitor for swelling, redness, or increased pain Consult me urgently - Sudden severe pain or swelling - Warmth or redness spreading in the leg - Shortness of breath, chest pain, or dizziness (seek emergency care immediately) For further guidance and personalized assessment you may consult me on Practo anytime.
